Gregory R. Edgar

Gregory R. Edgar has been a key member of GCJPR for over 16 years. He oversees the agency’s daily operations while directing client communication strategy as well as client events. He has contributed his logistical, communications and managerial talents to clients including The American Islamic Forum for Democracy, Arizona Public Service, A.T. Still University, Carl’s Jr.-Arizona, Intel, the Pat Tillman Foundation and the Republican National Committee.

In addition, Gregg has a wealth of experience in managing events for political campaigns and grassroots opinion movements such as the 2000 and 2004 presidential election effort for President George W. Bush. He has played a vital role in the event set-up and planning of election activities including ten presidential debates, two campaign train trips and election-night celebrations in 2000, 2004 and 2008. Gregg was also responsible for vendor contracting for events at the 54th Presidential Inaugural and served as the deputy director of operations for the 55th Presidential Inaugural. He served as the administrative coordinator for the pre-convention meetings at the Minneapolis Convention Center for the 2008 Republican National Convention.  From 2001- 2008, he routinely served as the lead advance representative for President George W. Bush on foreign and domestic trips.

Gregg serves as GCJPR’s lead media and communications trainer. Gregg uses his years of industry experience to constructively train individuals and groups to interact with the media and to communicate effectively.  Gregg’s approach relies heavily on building on each individual’s strengths and instilling the basic concept that the media is a tool for your message and should not be feared.

In 2004, Gregg served five months in Baghdad, Iraq as the deputy director of advance for the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) and as the production manager of the Presidential Palace Studio. In this capacity, Gregg toured Iraq extensively with Ambassador Bremer and organized the Ambassador’s interactions with the Iraqi people. Gregg worked closely with the U.S. Military and the Iraqi Interim Government as part of the CPA’s strategic communications operations. The Palace Studio was utilized for outreach to Western and Pan-Arab television media. Gregg was responsible for the construction and operation of the studio from February through July 2004.

Gregg graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science.  Gregg and his wife Jessica have three children Marissa (6), Joseph (3) and Jantzen (10 mos.)
